November

So wanting to see this view right now!

So wanting to see this view right now!

Halloween is over and for some that means time to bring on the Christmas festivities. We admit that we are itching to decorate the house already and have holiday movies on 24/7. We could certainly use some festive cheer especially this year, but here at Sweet In-Home Care we aren’t breaking out the Christmas music just yet. Hallmark and Lifetime has already begun with premiering their holiday movies and we are all for it, but for the most part of this month we will try to remember why November is special as well. November has a tendency to get overlooked since stores already have Christmas items in before Halloween is over and some even have items earlier than that. Not to mention people are always excited to begin the Christmas festivities. November is not only the start of the holidays, but a time to remember to always be grateful for how our life is and to be thankful for all that we have. For 2020, it is even more prevalent that we keep in mind all of the good in our lives and all the possibilities to come. We also would like to take a quick moment to say we will be voting tomorrow and we hope you will as well. We know you have probably heard enough already about voting so that’s it. With that being said, we know we are still staying at home for the most part and like our Halloween post we thought to share our favorite autumn movies to watch while we stay on the couch. Enjoy our list of some favorite fall/Thanksgiving themed movies.

  1. Mystic Pizza

Sisters Kat and Daisy work along with Jojo at the pizza parlour in Mystic, Connecticut. Kat is set to go to Yale soon and finds herself drawn to a local architect she is babysitting for who is also married. Daisy starts dating a guy with money to spare, which is opposite of her. Jojo struggles with marriage and leaves her man at the altar despite loving him due to commitment issues. Definitely your chick flick movie for fall.

  2. Harvest Moon

After her family goes bankrupt, a city woman travels to the country to fix up a struggling pumpkin farm that her father bought as an investment. Think Material Girls movie where the girls had to learn to work hard and not have money available to them and in the end learn to love what they have and grow up.

  3. Under the Autumn Moon

While visiting a dude ranch that is a potential acquisition for the outdoor adventure company she works for, an eager candidate for a big promotion discovers what matters most when she reignites her passion for the great outdoors. Wes Brown stars in the movie and is a favorite.

  4. Falling For You

Radio host Lacey (Taylor Cole) is hosting a bachelor bake-off to raise money to save her radio station. When her star bachelor backs out, she enlists Zac (Tyler Hynes), a visiting businessman, to fill the spot. It’s fun to see the two try to work together and Tyler is another favorite.

  5. Over the Moon in Love

Wes Brown once again. With her match-making business on the verge of closing, Brooklyn finds herself in the unique position to be featured in a magazine, but has to set up the writer with her childhood friend Devin who she may have feelings for.

  6. Love, Fall, and Order

When Claire ( Erin Cahill) goes home to save her dad's ( Gregory Harrison) annual Fall Fest on her family's pumpkin farm, sparks fly with an old rival - the opposing lawyer ( Trevor Donovan) she now faces in court. The two start off as foes, but as always they fid that they are better together.

  7. Harvest Love

A doctor from Seattle returns to her family farm to reconnect with her son and finds more than she can imagine. A sweet autumn movie to enjoy with some warm apple cider in hand.

  8. Love on a Limb

When the mayor hires a handsome landscaper to cut down a small town’s beloved oak tree, Aimie takes it upon herself to try and save it – by chaining herself to it. As the landscaper attempts to wait her out, the two find that the tree brings them more than they could’ve imagined in life and love. Stars Ashley Williams, Trevor Donovan and Marilu Henner.

  9. Autumn in the Vineyards

When Frankie and Nate both have a claim to ownership of Sorrento Farm, they are forced to divide the vineyard right down the middle and work the fields alongside each other to bring in the harvest leading up to the Best Wine competition at the annual Autumn Harvest Festival -- only this rivalry won't be settled in the fields. Stars Rachael Leigh Cook and Brendan Penny. They made another movie continuing the story for this one, which is a good one too.

  10. A Harvest Wedding

Sarah Bloom, an up and coming wedding planner in New York, is hired to plan the most anticipated wedding of the season. However, she learns the bride is from Sarah’s home town of Williamstown, Massachusetts, and wants her wedding on the family farm, which is now being run by the bride’s older brother – who is also Sarah’s first love. Stars Jill Wagner and Victor Webster.

All but one isn’t a Hallmark movie. Clearly Hallmark is a favorite and who doesn’t enjoy the cheesy movies that always end with a happy ending. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and The Good Witch show and movies are honorable mentions. If you’re feeling like in the mood for some football then Remember the Titans and The Blind Side are great options for you. Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are always recommended.
